New Pipeline Architecture: A new pipeline engine streams large data sets through available RAM instead of reading the entire data set into memory at once. This enables S-PLUS users to analyze gigabytes of data on existing hardware without the need for additional RAM or 64-bit operating systems.

New Features for Handling Large Data Sets: S-PLUS 7 also includes a new data type for dealing with very large data objects, and offers many new scalable algorithms for handling larger data sets.
