Research Library

Many of these libraries are useful, but not quite ready for prime-time. The research team has tested these libraries, but they haven't gone through our full QA procedures on all platforms, so you may run into problems -- if you do, please let us know. We can't provide official support for these libraries, but we're interested in any feedback you may have, good or bad, about these libraries.

Unless otherwise indicated, use of these libraries is subject to the Insightful Research Library License Agreement.

S+BEST (S-PLUS B-spline Statistical Technologies):This library for S-PLUS 6.2 and later provides tools for non parametric adaptive estimation of three common data analysis methods, including: adaptive estimation of a probability density function; adaptive estimation of a hazard regression model, and adaptive estimation of generalized linear models, including parametric survival models.

S+Resample:This library for S-PLUS 7.0 and later supports bootstrap (nonparametric and parametric), permutation tests, jackknife, influence, cross validation, and other resampling methods. A feature is bootstrap tilting, which requires 17-37 times fewer bootstrap samples than other bootstrap methods, for comparable accuracy. The Windows version includes a graphical interface. The library includes a large number of functions useful even to people not doing resampling. For addtional information see the S+Resample Home Page.

Download the library: S+FunctionalData:This library for S-PLUS 7.0 provides methods for transforming longitudinal or spatial data to a smoothed functional form. The goal is to analyze a sample of functions instead of a sample of points. Advantages are that it can handle irregularly spaced data, or data with missing values. Also, calculating derivatives and integrals may provide better information (e.g. graphical) than the original data itself. Tools include linear differential operators, integration, inner product, smoothing, and registration. Analyses supported include linear regression, generalized linear models, principal components, canonical correlation, principal differential analysis, and clustering. Available for Windows only.
