S-PLUS Graphlets™ GalleryOn February 28, 2001, the Seattle area was struck by a magnitude 6.8 earthquake. The Graphlet below shows the intensity of the event for locations within the Puget Sound region. Obviously, the intensity was greatest near the epicentre of the quake (the white dot at the southern extent of Puget Sound). Drag a region in the map using the mouse and the use the Rect button to zoom in on the image for a closer look (click on Fill to return to the original view). You can also click on one of the three monitoring stations to see seismograph activity around the event. The Insightful Corp offices in Seattle were shaken badly by the quake, but luckily there were no injuries and only very minor damage. Data courtesy Pacific Northwest Seismograph Network.
