Thank you for evaluating S-PLUS® 7.0 Enterprise Developer for Windows®, the only software that offers both rapid prototyping of statistical applications and analysis of large data sets for integration across the enterprise.
To install your evaluation copy of S-PLUS 7.0, you will require a serial number and License Authorization Code. If you have not already received an email with subject line beginning "Insightful License Authorization" containing this information, please contact your Insightful sales representative or email keys@insightful.com for assistance. Additional information on how to install S-PLUS is available in the file install.txt on the CD-ROM.
After installation, you can start S-PLUS with Start > Programs > S-PLUS 7.0 > S-PLUS.
The following resources are available to assist with your evaluation of S-PLUS:
- For an overview and tutorial of the S-PLUS for Windows graphical user interface, please consult the enclosed document Getting Started with S-PLUS 7 for Windows. The “Extended Tour” of Chapter 2 also gives a brief introduction to the S programming language.
- For an introduction to the S-PLUS Workbench environment for S programming and for a tutorial on the new Pipeline Architecture for the analysis of large data sets, please consult the enclosed Evaluation Guide for S-PLUS 7 Enterprise Developer for Windows.
- For detailed information about the S-PLUS Workbench and pipeline architecture, please consult the S-PLUS 7 Enterprise Developer User's Guide, available from the Help menu after starting S-PLUS. Chapter 2 offers an introduction to the S-PLUS Workbench and a detailed example of its use, and Chapter 3 offers information about the Big Data library.
Further documentation for S-PLUS 7’s statistical modeling and application integration features can also be found in the Help menu of S-PLUS for Windows. (Please note that Adobe Acrobat must be installed to read most S-PLUS documentation.)
