S-PLUS 2000 Release 3 Service Pack Installation Instructions

STEP 1

Ensure you have S-PLUS 2000 Release 2 installed. To determine the version of S-PLUS, choose "About S-PLUS" in the "Help" menu. If the first line reads "S-PLUS 2000 Professional Release 2" or "S-PLUS 2000 Standard Release 2" continue to STEP 2.

STEP 2

Download the patch for your edition of S-PLUS by clicking on a link below.

When prompted, save the file in a temporary folder (for example, C:\Temp).
You will need at least 15Mb of free disk space to save and install the Service Pack.

STEP 3

Shut down all running applications, including S-PLUS. Using Windows Explorer, open the temporary folder where you downloaded the Service Pack. Double-click on the Service Pack .exe file to begin updating S-PLUS 2000. Follow the prompts until the "Select Update Options" dialog appears.

STEP 4

In the Select Update Options dialog, there will be check box labeled "S-PLUS 2000 Professional Files" or "S-PLUS 2000 Standard Files". The check box should be already be marked, and you can click NEXT and move to Step 5. If the check box is empty, please read the S-PLUS 2000 Release 3 Frequently Asked Questions.

STEP 5

Proceed with installation as prompted on your screen, until you see the Update Message dialog. The Update Message dialog informs you that your preference files specifying menus, toolbars, and so on need updating. Click YES to continue, but read the S-PLUS 2000 Release 3 Frequently Asked Questions if you have added your own menus or toolbar buttons to S-PLUS, or have changed any of the defaults for the graphsheet window.

STEP 6

When the Service Update completes, click FINISH. You have successfully updated to S-PLUS 2000 Release 3!
